TARGET AUDIENCE

A films target audience is who the film is aimed at. Such as how the film is aimed towards children, then the target audience would be children. A target audience helps the marketing team plan strategies and plan how to market towards this specific group. Such as how marketing for teenagers would focus on social media marketing whereas a historical movie aimed at older generations would be marketed through TV adverts, posters or radio adverts. 

It is extremely beneficial that a production company knows who their target audience is, as it decides how the customers hear about the new movie. It is essential that the target audience hears about the movie, as hopefully for the production company the audience will become interested and then spend money to go and watch the film.
